The Central Gippsland Health Service now has two new ECG machines, thanks to Wellington Heartbeat.
The group donated $6000 to CGHS to purchase an Electrocardiogram machine for the Critical Care Unit and for the Rosedale Community Centre.
An ECG records the electrical activity of the heart. The heart produces tiny electrical impulses which spread through the heart muscle to make the heart contract and these impulses can be detected by the ECG machine.
The group has donated more than $120,000 to CGHS over the last 20 years, fundraising through a variety of activities including raffles and bingo nights.
The service presents the group with a “wishlist” and it then selects which equipment to purchase.
