Mardi Gras entrant

Courtney Savige is representing the Maffra District Hospital Auxiliary in this year’s Maffra Mardi Gras.
Courtney has worked as a nurse at the Maffra District Hospital for six years, building a strong connection with the facility, its staff and residents.
When staff approached her to be an entrant to represent for the auxiliary, she didn’t hesitate. Courtney said staff and residents of Maffra District Hospital were like a family and she could not think of a better way to give something back to what she loves.
The 25 years old lives at Boisdale with her partner and three-year-old son.
The auxiliary hopes to raise as much money as possible to help rejuvenate the front entrance at Maffra and the residential living areas. The aim is “to maintain the homely environment provided for residents and patients”.
The committee has lots of events planned over the six weeks with the major fundraiser the Maffra District Hospital Auxiliary Ball. It will be held on 5 March at the Maffra Football Reserve and include a silent auction.
There will also be a catch the carp day on 13 March, a trivia night on 18 March, then a market stall, trash and treasure, coffee mornings and a movie night.
