Dream Team

The CGHS “Dream Team” embraced Active April, doing everything from golf to gardening for at least half an hour each day.

Members of the CGHS Physical Activity Working Group registered for the statewide strategy to encourage Victorians to commit to 30 minutes of physical activity a day for the month of April.

All staff were encouraged to participate and 56 registered. They used an online tracker to record their physical activity and the chart below shows the different types of physical activity undertaken.

Walking proved to be popular but there was also plenty of golf, gardening and even dancing done.

Many local businesses offered services related to physical activity with promotions and discounts offered to CGHS staff who participated.

CGHS offered three prizes to the pool of staff who actively recorded their physical activity using the online tracker. The winners were randomly selected and prizes went to the following staff:

1st prize – Karen MacGregor

Karen received $500 towards something that supports physical activity and she chose to purchase a bike.

2nd prize – Keren Fuhrmeister

Keren received a Fitbit Blaze.

3rd prize – Sue Askew

Sue received a Fitbit Blaze.

The group thanked all staff who took part and looks forward to continuing the momentum by physical activity in the workplace.
